My life after high school....
Attended college at Washington University, worked for Tiger Fireside & Co a large local CPA firm in the 60's. From there to other
companies as Controller and CFO. I also maintain my own tax practice for the past 30 years which gives me an opportunity to see some
of my U.City friends as they are clients. It also keeps me very busy from about mid January through April 15th. I married Audrey
Fineshriber, also a U.City grad and we have two children who attended Parkway Central. Each of my children have 3 children so I am the
Grandfather of 6, including a set of twins. My son, also liked accounting and is a CPA and Controller of a major St. Louis Nursing home.
Our favorite travels include Disneyworld and Las Vegas, never having been out of the USA.
After graduation from U.City in 57, I attended both Washington University and Rubicam Business College obtaining a certificate in
accounting. My first full time position was with the largest local CPA firm in St Louis followed by five years at a division of Goodyear as
Chief Accountant and then 25 years as Controller of two major advertising agencies in St. Louis. Currently I am still actively employed by
U.S Tape & Label Corp as Controller and CFO.
I had also begun my own tax practice on the side after leaving the CPA firm and currently do over 200 individual tax returns each year
from my home, including many from the class of 57. This is something which I really enjoy although stressful since I also work full time
with my other position. Retirement is not in my plans as long as I am healthy.
In 1964 I married a U.City grad named Audrey Fineshriber and we currently have two children, Dawn Cohen who sells lighting fixtures and
Phillip Rubin CPA who is controller of a major St.Louis company. I also have 6 grandchildren and spend much time with them. I have no
particular hobbies but keep very busy between tax season and most of all my family which has always been first in my life. Our travel has
not been out of the country but to a number of places in the USA, with most visits to Disneyworld in Orlando and Las Vegas. I have a great
group of friends and maintain a great social life.
It is great to see what all of my friends are doing and distressing to see how many are dead but we must all enjoy each day and thats the
motto I live by.
