I married Alan Bisno in 1963 (he's David's second or third
cousin). We met while he was in WU med school and I was a WU
undergraduate. Susan Greenwald fixed us up. I got my law degree
in 1975 while we were living in Memphis (Alan's home town) and
our kids, Susan (8/6/63) and Neal (6/27/65) were little. I eventually
practiced at Legal Services for 5 years, ran for judge in 1982 and
lost, and served as an asst. city attorney for Memphis for 5 years.
Alan served as professor of medicine at the Univ. of Tennessee,
heading the infectious diseases section. We left Memphis in 1987
and moved to Miami where Alan became professor of medicine at
the University of Miami School of Medicine and Chief of Medicine
at the VA Medical Center. I became an Asst. U. S. Attorney in
1989. I spent the last 10 years of my career in that office as civil
coordinator of health care fraud, initiating the use of a court
procedure, adopted by U.S. Attorney offices throughout the
nation, whereby funds of a defrauding company or individual
were frozen until the lawsuit was resolved.
