Merle Kaminsky Bruneman Dallas, TX. Spouce: Gilbert (Gil) Bruneman Children: Bret (39), Jill (37),Keith(35), Grandchildren: 5 (ages 4,5,6,7, & 9) Education: BFA Degree from Washington University, St. Louis, Mo. Fashion Design Major. I designed in St. Louis my first year out of school. In 1963 I relocated to Dallas and have lived there ever since. Gil and I have been married almost 43 years and have been enjoying a wonderful, exciting life. Since Gil was a private pilot and we did most of our traveling by small plane for many years, I took flying lessons to learn how to land our plane (just in case!) We've been boaters for 42 years. Loved water skiing, wind surfing, snorkeling,snow skiing and traaveling. We've been to all 7 continents, and particularly love "expedition" cruising (using rubber zodiac boats to make shore landings, etc.) Just recently returned from a 3 week trip to Egypt and Israel. My career has had many facets. I designed for clothing manufacturers until our third child was born. Then I semi-retired to be home with 3 in diapers. During that time, Gil and I researched all the things to do in Dallas and I wrote a book called " THe Night Owl's Guide to Dallas." I used the pen name Merle Gilbert. The book became a local best seller and led to lots of mediat publicity...television shows, newspaper write-ups, etc. |
