Brenda Bournstein Prager (Prager was actually her mother's
maiden name which she took later in life) was an artist and a
professional photographer. She lived in Berkeley, California in a
live/work studio. She curated art shows for the city and was a
well loved member of the art community of Berkeley. Previously,
she taught photography at UC Santa Cruz. She had three
children and two grand daughters with whom she was very close.
She published a book of photographs and family history around
a special pastry that her mother made called Bagela. I have a
copy. She put together the booklet of photos and essays for the
Hamilton School reunion in 2003. She died in August of that
year of stomach cancer. (Submitted by Joan Zeffren)
[Joan has longer articles memorializing Brenda - please let us
know if you would like a copy]
Brenda Bournstein was in the 1956 graduating class, and in
their senior pictures, I went all through grade school, Hamilton
Grade School with her, and worked with her on the 50th
hamilton grade school reunion, but she was not in our high
school class. (submitted by Carol Chuver)
