Sorry I couldn't get this to you sooner, but just got my grand daughter to show me how to send a picture. After high school, spent six years in special forces with the military. Upon discharge, traveled extensively through Europe for about a year. Seeing all the interesting sights, doing a lot of skiing in Switzerland, trying to find out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Spent two years at WASH-U thinking I wanted to be an electrical engineer. Dropped out of school and went to work in a cabinetmaking shop, which I enjoyed immensely. Worked there for 15 years before they closed and I opened up my own place making specialized one-of-a-kind furniture company. Did this type of woodworking until I was 50 and decided to retire early. I have been enjoying my retirement immensely. Now trying to figure out how I got everything done while I was working. I guess old age crept up on me faster then I thought and I don't move so fast anymore. Used to enjoy working in my workshop in my basement but old age and ailments have just about completely left me unable to work down there anymore. Now I spend all my time taking care of the house and enjoying ten grandchildren. Believe it or not, they even come to me and ask me to help them with their homework and I am surprised at how much I learned and retained from University City High school, so we must've had some of the best teachers in the world. Couldn't ask for more. PS If anyone would like to email me feel free to give them my email address. larry2pat1@charter.net |
