We looked back and who was hanging from the tree but Marty. His exact words were he was "through" and proceeded to swim to shore and started to walk up this grassy area to a house on top of the hill. As Marty was walking up, there were dogs coming down the hill after him. We all got back in the canoe and our 3-day trip was over. Marty and I moved on to Kansas City to work and lived together for a company that moved from St. Louis. Jay also worked for the same company. This lasted a year for us and we moved back to St. Louis. He stayed in St. Louis until he moved to Colorado to work with his brother, Larry. Everyone who came in contact with Marty will remember him as a nice, friendly, giving person. We love you Marty, (Submitted by Guy Wolff & Jay Nelson) |
wow....wow....wow.... so sorry to read this information... I remember Marty very well....he lived in the Loop and really liked his Boyd's Threadneedle Shoes and getting a shine in the loop at Fatman's.. Morty was kind of a low key person....who ran with Lois Schwartsman and Sandy Siegel and also Jay Nelson and Tom Fisher.....he liked to play pool at Ed's in U.City.... A few times we would either drive or take the Delmar Bus to Lois's home on Balson for a Friday night party...with the lovely ladies of course.... Again...so sorry to read this sad news.
