Member of the baseball team, choir, Letterman's club, and the riffle team.
While attending the University of Michigan, Lilburn was a member of the University of Michigan
wrestling and football teams.
Graduated from the University of Michigan in 1940 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Education.
Married his wife Alberta on March 2, 1940 (they just celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary this
year). Taught in 1941 at Webb school for Boys in Bellbuckle, Tennessee.
Returned to St. Louis to teach at U. City High School.
Served for three years in New Guinea, as a member of the International Red Cross.
Upon returning from New Guinea, Lilburn served in the International Division of the American Red
Cross Air Force Rehabilitation in Lake Lure, North Carolina for one year, where they had their first
child, Thomas Lilburn Ochs, who is also a U. City High Graduate.
