Born April 23, 1913 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Olive and Henry Ochs, the fourth of six children who were all raised in University City. The family moved to U. City when Lilburn was one, living on a farm on Olive St. Rd. near Kingsland Avenue. Attended Pershing Elementary School, and was present when General Pershing dedicated the school. Was a member of the first graduating class from Ward Jr. High School that attended the new U. City High School. Graduated from University City High School 1934. While at U.City High, Lilburn was a member of the Wrestling team, where he was the State Wrestling Champion for two years, with the fastest pin recorded at 10 seconds. Member of the Football team, playing football in the dedication game for the new U. City High Stadium. |
