Now that the Libby trial has been concluded, I am free to write my bio. You see, I attended Washington U. law school with Norman Selner. I was concerned that I might accidently blow the cover of Mrs. Marcia Selner. However, I should have realized that, since her activities were not overseas, disclosure would not have been a crime. So Buddy, I apologize for not responding to your pleas for completing the bio. I went into the army 12 days after graduation. Three interesting events occurred during my 6-months active duty: 1. I saw Milton Goldenberg incorrectly throw a grenade, dislocating his shoulder. He later received a disability discharge; 2. I was stationed at Fort Chaffee, Ark., when Eisenhower sent troops from there to Little Rock to keep the peace during the Faubus intransigence; and 3. I was stationed at Fort Carson, CO, an artillery post, when the Russians unloosed Sputnik. At the time the furthest a field-artillery piece could fire was about 12 miles. Came home in December of '57 and went to Wash U. and then law school. Then to NY for a year of graduate work at NYU(got married in 12/64) and then found a job in Washington where I intended to stay 2 years and then to return to StL. Somehow I am still in DC and expect to stay(but I have never lost my love for the Cards--from Musial to Pujols with Gibbie, Brock and Ozzie in between). My daughter was born in '69. She is married with one daughter and lives in Carbondale, CO. My son was born in '73. He also went to Wash U and lives in Hopewell, NJ, where he is trying to make a living growing organic produce for local restaurants.Got divorced in '83 and remarried to Joan whom I met at work. She is a retired lawyer. Her daughter is married and hopes to finish her PhD program at Harvard this fall. We are blessed with 2 wonderful sons in law. |
