Shortly before our graduation Allan (class of 1954) was looking through his brother's copy of his 1957 Dial for someone to ask on a date. There were very many pretty girls in our class that he could have chosen, but somehow he chose me. We got fixed up by Mimi Gottler, and we will celebrate our 48th anniversary in July of 2007. |
That blind date has produced a son, and two daughters. They have blessed us with nine grandchildren ages 5 - 17. And am I lucky: all of them live less than 15 minutes from me. How sweet is that! In 1967 we moved to Overland Park, KS (a suburb of Kansas City). Seven years later, when the kids were in school all day, we opened tennis stores in two major malls. I was manager of both stores, plus I did all the purchasing for five additional pro shops. The part I like best was buying hundreds of tennis outfits and wearing a different outfit every day. I worked at stores until 1982 and then helped Allan with his business until retirement in 1998. |
