Biography - John Brockschmidt - Springfield, Missouri
One of my memorable accomplishments in HS was earning an
Eagle Scout badge plus three palms above Eagle in Troop 49.
Scout Master Beibel (Hanley Jr. High science teacher) had a very
positive influence on me.
I graduated from University of Mo. in Columbia, accounting, and
served several years in Europe as an Army Lieutenant. I learned
enough German to communicate reasonably well with the locals.
On returning to the States, I was employed at Washington
University where I met my wife, Barbara. On our honeymoon we
traveled around Europe in a Volkswagen camper for about four
months.
After we returned to St. Louis, I developed data processing cost
control systems for McDonnell Douglas. While there I joined their
flying club and earned a private pilot's license. I transferred to
computer services sales in Los Angeles and managed the Century
City office for about 10 years.
