In 1977, I started a design school which I developed and expanded for the next 15 years. We taught everything
from sewing and design, to "Fashion Magic" (dressing to improve the figure.) A career highlight was a travel
program I developed with the help of Air France. It was a two week trip to France and included workroom
visits to many famous fashion houses. (Once, at the Dior workroom, we watched them hand apply diamonds
to Christina Onassis's wedding gown!) As offshoots from my school, I spent a year as a "tipster" on thePM
Magazine T.V. show and wrote a weekly column for the Dallas Sunday paper. After I closed my design school
, I began managing my collie's career. I trained him in obedience and by fluke, he became the most highly
trained obedience collie in Texas! He was in national TV commercials and magazine and newspaper shoots.
We put on shows for underprivileged children at their schools. And he became a therapy dog at Baylor
Hospital where we volunteered with rehab patients in occupational therapy. I still have fond memories of U.
CIty High. The teacher who had most impact on my life was wonderful Mrs. Gottlieb. We were all so fortunate
to have gone to a high school which prepared us so well for college and our futures!
