I have fond memories of U. City Senior H. S. In addition to fond memories of so many classmates, the teachers I remember most are Mrs. Gottlieb and Dr. Grippi ( World literature and Senior Comp.) , Dr. Barrow ( American History), Mrs. Kimmel ( most of my math courses including the dreaded solid geometry) , Mr. Klein ( German) , and Mr. House (Chemistry). Joe House was a wonderful role model and started me out on my career in chemistry. I corresponded with him after he left U. City High and went to work at General Mills, but I have lost track of him. In addition to Joe House, the teacher who had the most impact on me was Augusta Gottlieb who seems to have inspired all her students to love poetry and the great plays of western literature. |
