Jerry Landsbaum was the salt of the earth. As
down-to-earth as it was possible to be. And the best friend
anyone could ever hope to have. After attending
Washington U. and spending time in the Army, Jerry went
to work for Monsanto as a computer engineer. Probably
one of their first. And there he stayed until he took early
retirement in the '90s. Jerry had two children and three
marriages. The third marriage stuck. His two passions in
life were his trumpet and leisure. He took both very
seriously. Even in his late '50s, Jerry attended music
camps during the summer…usually with kids 1/3 his
age…and played in a big band of mostly-retired guys until
shortly before his death. When I said Jerry's other passion
was leisure, I wasn't joking. His goal was to sit with his feet
